Functional training is designed to improve your ability to perform everyday tasks, whether it’s hauling groceries, lifting a heavy toddler, or moving heavy pallets of sod. Its goal is to prepare your body for real-world actions and responsibilities, instead of merely boosting how much weight you can handle on a gym apparatus. The emphasis is on enhancing balance, strength, flexibility, and stability, engaging multiple muscle groups to promote general health and well-being.
As a member of our Arlington gym, you’ll have access to a functional/turf area with TRX, sleds, kettlebells, slam balls, wall balls, ski ergs, assault bikes, rowers, and ropes.
Functional training focuses on exercises that engage several muscles and joints all at once. What’s amazing is that these workouts not only make you stronger but also improve your agility, balance, and coordination.
The best part? The movements in functional training are similar to those we use in our daily lives. This means that it not only makes everyday tasks easier but also reduces the risk of injury. Plus, the variety keeps things interesting so you won’t get bored with your workout. It’s a great way to keep fit and improve your overall quality of life.
